In 2016 The UVG received Arts Council funding to run a new artists development programme. The ‘Breaking Through’ project enabled six young singers aged 15 – 18 to write, record, perform and promote original music through being mentored by established artists and taking part in workshops with industry professionals. The project covered the creative and commercial aspects of the music industry and the work produced is of an exceptionally high standard.
